CALL FOR NOMINEES: Join our Board of Directors

We are currently seeking candidates to fill one (1) Board vacancy for a three (3) year term. Our Board of Directors is very important at City of Firsts Community Federal Credit Union because they help advance our member-owned cooperative by establishing and reviewing policies.

We are all about members helping members – it’s at the core of how we approach customer service and our business decisions.

Did you know that credit unions are member-owned cooperatives, democratically controlled by their members, and that they operate to serve people, not profits?

Anyone wishing to be considered for nomination to the Board of Directors must submit a petition for nomination no later than May 1, 2026. The Nominating Committee will meet with all interested individuals to answer any questions concerning the responsibilities and duties of the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors has established a minimum age of twenty-one (21) as a requirement to hold the elected or appointed office and to vote at the Annual Meeting.

• Willingness to prepare for and participate in board and committee meetings, ask relevant questions, and take responsibility.

• Follow through on given assignments, open doors in the community, and conduct self-evaluation.

• Commitment to cultivate and recruit directors and other volunteers, read and understand financial statements, and learn more about the credit union’s strategic challenges.

• Demonstrate honesty, sensitivity, tolerance of differing views, a friendly/responsive/patient approach, and networking skills.

• Uphold personal integrity, a sense of values, and genuine concern for the credit union’s development and success.
