A message to our members
Thank you for your patience and understanding over the last few weeks. We know how stressful and disruptive this outage has been. The outage originated from a major equipment failure at the Credit Union’s banking system provider’s main data center, Sharetec. The outage was not isolated to only us; it affected over 280 credit unions nationwide.
Sharetec has assured us that the outage was not the result of a data breach and member information was not compromised because of this incident. Sharetec has indicated that a comprehensive report will be provided regarding the incident.
We understand that this outage has impacted you in very real and personal ways. We also understand how frustrating and unsettling the past several days have been, and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience and uncertainty this situation has caused.
While the system failure itself was outside of our control, our commitment to you is not. Our employees have worked extremely hard throughout this outage and continue to work diligently to reconcile accounts and correct discrepancies. Though we don’t have a completion date; we will keep you updated.
We now have full access to our banking system. Transactions are being processed normally, and your account information is safe. Members can now access branch services, their online and mobile banking, the Automated Response Teller (ART), and utilize their ATM/Debit cards.
To support our members, we are refunding transaction fees incurred during the outage through October 31, 2026.
Communication is essential; stay connected with us by joining our email distribution list or by visiting our website (www.coffcu.org) for the latest news and updates.
Thank you for your trust, your patience, and for allowing us to make things right. You are the reason we do what we do.
Again, we are truly sorry for the inconvenience and uncertainty this matter may have caused.
Sincerely,
Felicia A. Cox
CEO, City of Firsts Community Federal Credit Union
