Annual Meeting Notice

Come join us for the 86th Annual Meeting of City of Firsts Community Federal Credit Union which will be held Monday, June 24, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. in the Credit Union Board Room.

 Three Board vacancies exist for three-year terms.  The Nominating Committee has nominated the following members (listed alphabetically) to serve in elected offices.

Anyone wishing to be considered for nomination to the Board of Directors must submit a petition for nomination no later than Friday, June 7, 2024.  Any current member of the Credit Union may make a formal request for nomination by obtaining at least 80 signatures of current members of voting age, including the last four digits of their Social Security numbers.  The petition must be received by the Nominating Committee at least 15 days prior to the Annual Meeting.  The Nominating Committee will meet with all interested individuals to answer any questions you may have concerning the responsibilities and duties of Board members.  For information regarding eligibility, call (765) 459-0758.  Nominations may be mailed to the Credit Union to the attention of any of the following Nominating Committee members: Joe Dunbar, John Snyder, and Alice Kolanko. The Board of Directors has established a minimum age of 21 as a requirement to hold elected or appointed office and to vote at the Annual Meeting.

 The 2024/2025 Charles W. Franklin/Beryl D. Etherington Scholarship was available to graduating high school seniors who are (primary owner) members on account with City of Firsts Community FCU. Scholarship applications were available at the Credit Union as well as the guidance counselors’ offices at area schools.  Those applications needed to be received by April 30, 2024. Unfortunately, we had no applicants that were eligible to receive this scholarship.

 Nomination Biographies:

 Robert “Bob” Croll – Bob has been a member of the Credit Union for more than 40 years. His teaching career totaled 42 years, 31 years at KHS. Bob was an active member of the Kokomo Teacher’s Assoc. for a number of years. He coached the KHS Boys’ Swimming Team from 1979 to 1994. He is the president and founder of Friends of Howard Haven and is also the President of Kokomo Noon Kiwanis.

 Thomas Richardson –Thomas Richardson graduated from the University of Kentucky and began his teaching career at Kokomo High School.  Tom retired in 2013 after 43 enjoyable years in the classroom teaching German. Tom was assistant swim coach under Bob Croll for fourteen years and was Head Middle School swim coach for another six years. He managed Kokomo Beach Family Aquatic Center from its opening and retired from that job seventeen years later. Tom’s service to the City of Firsts Community FCU goes back many years, serving on the Supervisory Committee and on the Board of Directors.
